BMX Bike Racing

My sister Denita's family has been participating in the Sunday BMX bike racing at the Lebanon Fairgrounds. She invited the boys to go along and try it out . . . so their dad bought them new BMX Freestyle bicycles and they've been practicing . . . Sunday night was Bradley's first try at it!

This is Toby with a wide lead . . . he placed first in his first motto of the day.

Brad qualified in his first motto, placing second! He ended up getting a trophy!

YEAH Bradley!!!

Gotta tell ya though . . . I was a NERVOUS WRECK watching him . . . Next time, I'm going to try and get out on the field to take photos - I'm not very good at action photog anyway, but from the sidelines it was hard to get great shots.

What a busy weekend - Saturday ball game!

I had a crazy, fun, super busy weekend with lots of photo ops! It started early Saturday afternoon with Toby's baseball game . . . my sisters and I met mom for an early Mother's Day picnic at the park and to watch Toby's game. It started out drizzling, but the sun came out and it turned into a nice day . . .

Bradley spent some time with my camera and ended getting some of the best shots of the event - half of these are his!

Fried Zucchini . . .

A summer favorite . . . it is cheap food and the kids LOVE it! Here is my recipe with photos.

Ingredients:

Vegetable Oil

Olive Oil

Flour

Pepper/Salt

Zucchini (1 small for each serving/snack size or side dish)

Cover the bottom of a large skillet with 1/2 vegetable oil and 1/2 olive oil.

Cut zucchini into 1/2" thick strips/chunks.

Dust in salted/peppered flour.

Drop into hot skillet and cook briefly on each side until it starts to color.

The secret is to cook it like pasta - just to al dente! (I admit this is a bit too soft!)
