In my next life . . .

I say this often . . . what I mean is . . . I know I only have so much time in this life to play and learn and create just for the pleasure of it. There are just so many things I want to try and do and learn about, but realistically I don't have that much life left! No, I'm not dying . . . my mind's interest is just that vast!

In my next life, I would love to . . .

  • open a small, lunch only restaurant

  • learn to knit and actually make things

  • create art seriously and have gallery showings

  • write a book (ok, I have NOT totally ruled this out in this life yet)

  • go to college again and this time major in art, literature, photography AND web design - yes, all separately and individually!

  • develop a free battered women's bodyguard program

  • raise seeing eye dogs

  • own a goat farm and make cheese from their milk

  • open an antique store

  • be a motivational speaker or life coach

  • create a magazine - oh yeah, there is a variety of topics to pick from!

  • be a school art teacher

  • design clothing - preferably for kids
  • Make a film or documentary

Ok, there are way more, but that's enough for today.

If time, money and talent were no issue . . . what would you want to do?

Wishing I had a daughter . . .

just so that I could buy her clothes from Matilda Jane Clothing . . .

They have a tshirt with this quote on the back:

Princesses
wear crowns to remind them
that they are beautiful
because some days
it is easy to forget.

I LOVE that!

Pip and Sabrina

My best friend and her husband. I love this picture!! Most of the shots had her husband making goofy faces, but in this one he was listening to her . . . and it shows!

A Couple QUICK Layouts

Ugh, I'm tired. I'm still transitioning to the early wake-up that school requires. So far so good, nobody's overslept. Each night I want to go to bed earlier though!

Hence, less scrapbooking which I usually do late at night when the work is done. I'm getting back into the swing of work too, after essentially working part-time over the summer. I'm beginning to feel accomplished and thereby, more motivated. YEAH - I needed to feel motivated again!

Here are two quick pages I put together with recent pictures. I am tending to do less embellishing with the better pictures. I find the pictures are easily the focus of the page.

Beautiful Melissa . . .

Isn't there a song with that line in it? This is my niece Melissa. She owns a fantastic hair salon called NVS (envious). She does my hair! Anyway . . . she came over today so I could create some sales flyers for her. On one of them, I really wanted to include a picture of her so we ran out back quick and took a pic!

Isn't she GORGEOUS?!! I told her this pic reminds me of someone from the movies, but I'm not good with names. She said people tell her she looks like Kirsten Dunst a lot - what do you think?

New Pics of Bradley

I do wish Jamie would pose for me more . . . my photo album is very unbalanced between the kids. Bradley is so cooperative, so I have lots of pics of him . . . Here's some more . . .

The Treehouse . . .

Bradley's new obsession is building a treehouse in our lone, albeit large, tree in the backyard. He has mooched, begged, borrowed and I hope not stolen . . . wood, materials and labor from the neighbors, neighborhood kids and my basement for this project.

I tried to talk him out of it . . . I told him that a kid might fall and then the parents would sue me. My top notch negotiater talked with each parent about this concern and reported back that he would be preparing a contract for each kid's parent to sign before he would let them get in the tree. Then he asked if I had any other concerns that would restrict him from proceeding with his project? Oh, did I mention he is 11? Yikes, how will I argue with him when he is older? I guess I created this monster . . . But seriously, what a cool memory for a boy!

First Day of School

Jamie refused to let me take a picture - even though it was the LAST time he would EVER have a FIRST day of school! He's not a morning person. Bradley posed for me though.

Bradley and I played in the creek!

School starts tomorrow for Bradley, so we took the afternoon off and went to the creek where he catches crayfish and we played a bit. Of course, I had my camera with me and I was able to document what he has spent his summer doing. Him and his friends also built a small fort there, but the big boys have since tore it down.
